LIGHT CELL TEST PROCEDURE:
Follow this procedure when a bad light cell is suspected with VUE operating:
1.Visually inspect for leaking cupric chloride ( Pass / Fail )
2.Observe change in light intensity as calibration potentiometer is adjusted.
1.No light = check for 6v between blue (+) and orange (-) wires @ light cell
2.6v = bad light cell. No voltage = consult wiring diagram
3.Does meter change as potentiometer is adjusted?
1.If no = disconnect white/orange wire from harness and test with ohm meter between
white/orange wire from light cell to orange wire. Resistance should be between 6k W
and 20k W in normal room light. Must vary when light is shone on light cell from a
flashlight. If this test passes, go to step 3b.
2.Connect voltmeter positive lead to harness side of white/orange wire. Connect voltmeter
negative lead to orange wire. Voltage should read approx. 6v. If not, consult wiring
diagram and/or meter test procedure.
